The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
This was a wonderful opportunity for the whole KCIS community come together to celebrate the beginning of Advent. It featured songs from the KChrIStmas Choir (including teachers, students and extended family members), the International school classes and readings from student council members.
“At this time of the year, as a Chinese teacher, being able to take part in this wonderful Christmas Tree Lighting tradition warms my heart during the winter season.”

The Nativity Story Assembly
Grade 1A retold the traditional Christmas Story during assembly which was attended by students, teachers, and family members.
“The students practiced extremely hard to learn their assembly words. Each child was able to be part of the Nativity story, performing confidently in front of family members amongst the large audience. Everyone enjoyed their magic moment on the stage!”

KCIS Winter Show
Teachers from Grade 1 to 8 designed a varied programme from English and Chinese poetry readings and storytelling to action packed singing and dance performances. The students shone in their festive Christmas outfits – just fabulous!
“We were really thrilled to see every student in KCIS performing their hearts out on the stage, in front of an enthusiastic and enraptured audience, during our 2022 Christmas performance.”
-Mike Hindle, Head Teacher
“I really enjoyed the creative process so many of the classes went through to prepare for the International Winter Show. I was fortunate to be able to collaborate with some of the teachers. We brainstormed ideas. In the end, it was the enthusiasm and confidence of the students that made the event sparkle. Our community has a lot to celebrate this season.”
