Lower Secondary School

11~14 Years (G6-8)

As our students progress higher up the school, they will continue along curriculum pathways established in G1-5, ensuring a smooth transition into grades where all subjects are taught by subject specialists. Maths continues to follow the National Curriculum of England and Wales, whilst English and Science follow Cambridge Lower Secondary curricula. From G6, Science - previously taught as a singular subject - begins to separate into its three distinct branches of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, which will better inform students of which areas of the subject they may wish to pursue further in the future. Humanities is comprised of the skill-based Global Perspectives and a Geography curriculum. Chinese native speakers work towards the expectations of the Chinese National Curriculum, while non-native speakers are supported in their learning of Chinese via the Chinese Second Language curriculum. Subjects such as Art, Music, Drama, ICT, PE and Spanish are all taught by teachers who are specialists in their subject and will help students consolidate and develop their skills.
