MERRY CHRISTMAS

Following a busy and extremely productive semester of learning and fun here at KCIS, with the help and support of our amazing community, we have gradually turned our bustling and happy school into a Winter Wonderland.

This Christmas-time has been the most wonderful and festive yet at KCIS! We were even treated to a beautiful snow-fall, which added a sprinkling of Winter Magic to our celebrations.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

Our festivities began with the Tree-Lighting Ceremony on 4th December. Our community came together to sing Christmas songs, listen to the origins of the tradition of decorating the Christmas Tree and be entertained by our incredible students as well as the staff and parents. It was a truly joyful beginning to our many Christmas celebrations and we even had a sprinkling of snow!

Winter Market

The Winter Market on 8th December was not just a festive occasion; it was a testament to the incredible community spirit that defines our school. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this event a resounding success, from the house team and the creative minds behind each captivating stall.

However, beyond the joyous festivities, the Winter Market had a profound purpose—to raise funds for charity. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we were able to make a meaningful contribution of over ¥25,000 to several charities in Wuxi and beyond, furthering the noble cause that lies at the heart of the holiday season. Your support and commitment to giving back are truly commendable.

Carols by Candlelight

The cold and frosty evening of 14th December was this year, for the first time, filled with warmth and cheer by the lights, music and communal voices of our very first Carols by Candlelight. A truly heart-warming event which saw us joining together to sing traditional Christmas Carols (along a  home-grown live band), hear the story of Christmas, and enjoy delicious snacks and a sip of something special, kindly provided and organised by our sensational PSG.

Christmas Performance

The students and staff rehearsed hard to create our amazing Christmas Performance on 21st December. Involving all KCIS students, the audience was dazzled by the creativity and sparkle demonstrated by our talented student body.

Christmas Cheering Decorative Competition

Classrooms once again became grottos and Winter Wonderlands this Christmas season. The sparkle and shine knew no limits as classes decorated their rooms in the hope of becoming this year's winner of the much-coveted Christmas Cheer Trophy. Our PSG found this year's competition incredibly difficult to judge, but after some deliberation, the winners were announced as Grade 2. Congratulations Grade 2!

After so much fun, celebration, laughter, togetherness and spirit of caring and belonging in our KCIS Community, it's now time for a well-earned break, and for those who are able – time with family. I wish you all a truly blissful and restful holiday. Safe travels to those who exploring pastures new or ole this winter break, and I very much look forward to welcoming you back in January as we embark together on our journey into 2024.
