KING'S CAMP 2024-25
Between the 19th and 26th October 2024, King's Wimbledon will host the first King's Camp: a world-class residential camp exclusively for students from the King's family of schools.
During the October half term, King's College School Wimbledon will host an Academic Enrichment Week tailored for year 9 and year 10 international pupils. The week will focus on subjects including STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), English, Economics, and Modern Foreign Languages (MFL). This comprehensive program aims to provide students with a stimulating and immersive learning experience, guided by expert educators and academic ambassadors.
The programme has been devised to achieve 5 key objectives:
● Academic: To provide students with a challenging and inspiring academic program that will help them develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and an enthusiasm for their subject beyond the curriculum.
● Cultural exchange: To promote cultural exchange and understanding among students from different countries. The program will be designed to help students learn about each other's cultures, traditions, and values.
● Personal growth: The program will be designed to help students build confidence, resilience and leadership skills. Students will have the opportunity to participate in team-building activities and outdoor adventures. Taking them outside the confines of their comfort zone.
● Fun and enjoyment: The program will be designed to help students make new friends, explore new places, and have fun. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities, including sports, arts and crafts, music, and dance.
● University aspirations: During this trip, students will have the opportunity to visit Oxford for a day. They will be guided around the university and the city by a former King’s pupil who is currently studying at the university.
