Our Halloween Party was an absolute blast, bringing together our international community here at KCIS for an afternoon of laughter, fun, and unforgettable memories! Halloween may be new to some, but it provided the perfect opportunity to share a festive tradition and celebrate the spirit of community and culture. For some of our students, it was their first time bobbing for apples and joining in Halloween festivities, while others enjoyed a taste of home.
The event had something for everyone! The photobooth was a huge hit, capturing students and families in their best spooky (and often hilarious) costumes. The games carnival kept the energy high, with everyone competing for fun prizes and enjoying classic Halloween games. Over at the snack station, Halloween treats flew off the tables as students enjoyed creating their Halloween treats. To wind down, our movie room showed a Halloween classic, creating a cozy space for all to relax.
This Halloween celebration was not only a day of fun but a meaningful way for us all to connect, laugh, and learn about each other's traditions. Here’s to more shared memories and community spirit!
We also invited all students in Grades 1-8 to unleash their creativity and participate in our exciting competitions:
Literacy Competition (G1-8)
Let your imagination run wild! Students can write a chilling Halloween story or a spine-tingling poem. Alternatively, they can dazzle us with a video performance reading their favourite Halloween tale (maximum of 5 minutes per entry).
Monster Design Challenge (G1-3)
Students can bring their wildest monster creations to life— whether it's a colourful drawing, a painted, digitially created, or a collage made from different materials, we want to see their imagination shine! Monsters should include a fact file or short biography with their monster's name and favourite things!
Halloween Bookmark Design (G4-8)
Students were invited to craft a Halloween-themed bookmark that showcases their unique style and creativity.
In addition, we had a spooky photo competition where students can capture their own interpretation of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” showcasing both their best and most mischievous selves side by side.
Best Costumes
Lastly I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Parent Support Group (PSG) and all the parent volunteers for their incredible efforts in making our Halloween event a success. From the initial preparations to the smooth execution of the activities, your dedication and hard work truly made a difference. Thank you for your support and for helping create a memorable experience for our children!
