G5&G8 End-of-Phase Ceremony

A Letter to parents

Dear International Families,

As the 2024–25 school year draws to a close, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks for your continued support and trust in KCIS. It has been a joy and a privilege to partner with you in the education and care of your children.

This year has once again been filled with memorable achievements, vibrant events, and inspiring progress from our students. None of this would be possible without the energy, involvement, and commitment of our entire community. I feel incredibly proud to be part of such a warm and dynamic school.

Our staff have worked tirelessly to provide the very best for your children, and I am deeply grateful for their dedication, care, and professionalism.

Special thanks also to our wonderful PSG members, who have contributed their time, energy, and enthusiasm to support a wide range of school events throughout the year.

Please note that the last day of school will be Saturday 28th June. All students will finish at 11:30am, and lunch will not be provided on that day.

School will reopen after the summer break on Monday 1st September. Orientation sessions for new families will take place on Sunday 31st August from 9:00–10:00, and sessions for returning families will be held the same day from 10:15–11:15, both in the International Lecture Theatre followed by time in homerooms/form rooms.

To those families moving on, we send our very best wishes for the future. To those returning, we look forward to welcoming you back after what I hope will be a joyful and restful summer.

Warmest regards,
Mike Hindle

Recap of the G5&G8 End-of-Phase Ceremony

On the sunny afternoon of June 24, King's College International School in Wuxi celebrated the end-of-phase ceremony for the fifth and eighth grades. This heartfelt event marked an important milestone in the students' growth journey.

The ceremony began with a wonderful speech by NKCS Director General Mr. Brendan Law. He demonstrated the art of origami to highlight the importance of a well-rounded education. He emphasized that academic achievement alone is not enough; students must also engage in sports, performing arts, and receive support from their families and teachers to grow holistically.

Next, Head of KCIS Mr. Mike Hindle shared an inspiring message with the students. He quoted a profound passage: “Watch your thoughts, they become your words… Watch your words, they become your actions… Watch your actions, they become your habits… Watch your habits, they become your character… Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.” This message encouraged each student to think carefully and shape their own future.

During the  ceremony, teachers also shared their heartfelt messages and blessings for the students. They encouraged the students to embrace new challenges with courage and to continue pursuing their passions. The teachers reminded them that learning is a lifelong journey, and they will always be there to support them as they embark on this new chapter in their lives.

Following the speeches, students shared their experiences and expressed gratitude to their teachers and classmates. The student representatives delivered emotional addresses, reflecting on the wonderful times spent at school.

The ceremony also featured impressive performances, with students showcasing their talents through song and dance, earning thunderous applause from the audience.

Parent representatives also spoke, thanking the school for its dedication and support, and wishing the students the best for their future endeavors.

Finally, each student was awarded a certificate of completion, along with a specially customized class photo and commemorative gifts, creating lasting memories of this significant occasion.

This graduation ceremony not only recognized the hard work of the students but also marked the beginning of their new journeys. We wish all students the best as they continue to chase their dreams and move forward with confidence!
