PREFACE

At KCIS, we believe that the strength of ourschool lies not only in academic achievement, but also in the care, compassion,and respect we show one another. This year, our pastoral care focus aligns closely with our annual goal: Building a Strong, Caring Community.

Through intentional projects and student-led initiatives, we are working together to create a school where every child feels safe, valued, and empowered.

Some highlights of our pastoral care initiatives this year include:

01 Junior High Leadership Development Programme

Our Grade 6–8 students are stepping up as future leaders, so learning skills in communication, collaboration, and responsibility is essential. This internal programme, open only to Junior High students and run as a CCA, aims to equip them to be positive role models within the school and beyond.

02 Student Wellbeing Ambassadors

This new project will give students from oursenior grades the opportunity to be trained to promote kindness, inclusion, andsupport among their peers. Wellbeing Ambassadors will serve as approachablepoints of contact for students and play an active role in shaping a positiveschool culture and environment.

03 Integrating PSHE and SEL into Daily Life

Pastoral care goes beyond the classroom – it lives in everyday interactions. By weaving Personal, Social, Health and Economic education (PSHE), and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) into lessons and routines, we are helping students develop empathy, resilience, and respect in real time. We are solidifying the foundations of a strong, caring school community.

04 Student Council Elections

Upcoming elections will provide students with the opportunity to participate in peer-driven processes, practise servant leadership, and give voice to the perspectives and needs of their peers. The Student Council will continue to play a key role in strengthening school community life.

Each of these initiatives is more than a project – they are stepping stones toward our shared vision of a school where every student belongs, every voice matters, and every action builds community.
