Power of Voice

In Humanities, our Grade 4A students have been exploring the unit “Voice and Expression.” This unit encourages them to think about how people throughout history have used their voices to share ideas, inspire others, and create change.

Students began by learning how to speak emotively, using tone, pace, and expression to bring meaning to their words. They analysed famous speeches to understand how powerful messages can move and motivate an audience.

They then became young historians, researching inspirational figures such as Malala Yousafzai, Martin Luther King Jr., and Greta Thunberg. Using online sources, students practised gathering reliable information and presenting their findings in their own words.

Through this project, students have strengthened their skills in communication, research, and empathy, while developing a deeper understanding of how voice and expression can shape history. It’s been inspiring to see 4A grow in confidence and creativity as they learn to use their own voices to make a difference.
